Those of us who are born again with the Holy Spirit will be slowly guided and molded to follow God's law perfectly in time. Either in this life or in the next.

Well explained! The apostle Paul urged others that were born again like he was to go on making spiritual progress.
(Ephesians 4:23, 24) And you should continue to be made new in your dominant mental attitude, 24 and should put on the new personality that was created according to God’s will in true righteousness and loyalty.
Those that are born again make no claims of being better than ones like John the Baptist until after they go to heaven.
(Matthew 11:11) Truly I say to you, among those born of women, there has not been raised up anyone greater than John the Baptist, but a lesser person in the Kingdom of the heavens is greater than he is.
Since John died prior to Jesus, his resurrection will be to the earth. [Acts 24:15]. He will enjoy the experience of fulfilling God's purpose for the earth of turning it into a paradise home for obedient mankind.
