You raise an interesting point re brick veneer preference in Victoria and NSW.When I built in NSW , it was brick veneer , simply because it was cheaper.On my regular walks a long the beach , I would see old beachside homes (million dollar plus blocks of land) pulled down and new brick veneer or lightweight rendered blueboard homes built.Seems things have remained the same for last 50 years , maybe time for a change and go away from cheap construction , with the price of land as it is.
