I agree.....It's a legitimate tax deduction available across mining and primary industries..the fuel excise was imposed to build and maintain the road networks... Why should a fishing trawler or a tractor or a mine haulout pay to build Australia's road network simply because they use diesel.? the excise is charged when you purchase and you are entitled to have it refunded if your vehicles don' t use the public roads....The govt get to keep and use your money for several months with no interest paid regardless.

Of course Andrew Forrest would not classify the Diesel Fuel Rebate as a " subsidy". and neither would I.
