Lol GR
In defence of The Duke, I would describe it more as "understandable exuberance." We are having a happy day here and we can cut the guy some slack. He's living in a different time zone and maybe had a few bourbons already before hanging up his boots and heading off to bed. I can relate to that....
Of course you are quite correct. If it was a certainty it would already be at the suggested price. I'm sure the big guy knows that too. I get accused occasionally of up ramping myself, but I have also said repeatedly that Imugene remains a speculative buy and will be so (at least for me) right up until the day they sign a multi-billion $ deal. I think it is increasingly likely that will happen, but my life is also full of hilarious (and less so) examples of times when I was ridiculously wrong.
So it comes down to everyone making their own assessment of questions such as:
- What are the chances of major clinical success for one or more of IMU's drug candidates?
- What is a reasonable commercial value of such a success?
- What could go wrong?
I think it is fair to say that Imugene has greatly increased the range of its IP, and the number of drug candidates/technologies which might bring clinical and commercial success, as well as the range and significance of its partnerships.
They also have some excellent initial indications of clinical effectiveness for Her-vaxx and PD1-vaxx, but they need more data.
Today's announcement is reasonable evidence that big Pharma now gives some credibility to the chances of success with Her-vaxx, and by extension the whole B-cell vaccine approach. So there's that.
And no -success is still not a certainty; it won't be until it happens, and then it won't be a prediction - it will just be a fact, and the price to buy in will be commensurate.
So I guess I'm saying - I agree with you mate, but please go easy on The Duke - it's not easy being a legend, lol.
Cheers
Dave
PS Today's fun fact - the real John Wayne died of Gastric cancer. https://outsider.com/news/entertainment/john-wayne-what-were-cowboy-icons-last-words/
PPS I've been posting here far too much. Going back on silent mode now.
