Basically says Scott Brady, (partner at Innovation Endeavors, the VC firm created by former Google CEO Eric Schmidt) and 5 other VCs were asked to name the six most promising companies in the EV space. Those companies "they're most excited about".
No 1 was Lilac Solutions. And the description of Lilac contains a quote from BMW iVentures managing partner Kasper Sage praising the solution.
There's also another paywalled article today about Mangrove Lithium (also backed by Breakthrough Energy Ventures) which thinks it has an optimised process for producing lithium hydroxide from brines and CEO says he plans to licence to upstream extraction companies, and names Lilac Solutions specifically as target.
