That data is giving a lot of confidence to us that we must hold as long as we can because it'd be stupidity (for me at least) when those big funds are buying in. Now, $1.60 is their entry price.
That's not the case for Van Eck REMX fund because Van Eck REMX fund bought much earlier and averaging up at the moment. (I think their ave. must be around $1.20.
What's special with Van Eck fund?
Why is the other much larger fund, LIT (Global-X Lithium and battery ETF) not buying while Van Eck recognised LTR as a very good stock?
OK. I will tell you my opinion about it.
Van Eck has a fund established for REEs and strategic metals. If an analyst has a deep experience and understanding of REEs then that person can understand the importance of lithium and other rare metals much earlier than an ordinary analyst. I also have been in REE stocks since 2012. I was in Lynas (LYC) at that time. (You can see my posts if you go back and search them). I have done a lot of research and learned REEs.
In those times REE was very popular because the smart phones have become mainstream and they were containing many different REEs. That was the first time the stock market analysts started to me research about the REEs and rare metals. (Lithium, tantalum etc. are rare metals but not REE)
Along the way researching REEs and its markets gave us a lot of experience on understanding of new strategic minerals. Then I saw the importance of lithium in 2015 and jumped in to lithium stocks.
IMO, Van Eck is in the same position, hence buying a lot of LTR even though they are a bit late in comparison to me
. But i can see that Van Eck has very good analysts who can see the potential of LTR.
LIT is not so much expert, they have a lots of lithium, battery and EV related stocks in their fund. They are just buying anything if it is popular in the market for shareholders. IMO their holdings are unconsciously bought stocks. (Apparently LIT analysts are BS artists IMO). Some of them are very risky. They have PLL (very small company in comparison to LTR) and VUL (very risky with unproven DLE tech) which I wouldn't touch them at all.
Anyway, they will learn when they see what LTR along the way.
