Nah, not AMI. The Catalpa and Conquest deal that created EVN had a lot of synergies that made sense. They had tenements a stones throw away from each other. And they both had their eye on Cowal. Instead of butting heads and bidding each other out to acquire a Tier 1 asset like Cowal they worked together to achieve a goal instead. But Conquest/La Mancha/Sawiri did back stab EVN when it sold all of their shares of EVN a couple of years down the track. A move I'm sure they regret to this day...

Similarly SAR and NST had Kalgoorlie synergies for their merger which made it work. AIS needs to find that opportunity and AMI is not it by a long shot. I even prefer it if AIS strikes it alone to be honest. The way I see it the future already looks bright for AIS the way it is going. A major deal to acquire a tier 1 asset is really just around the corner or even better use its exploration prowess to find one and develop an existing asset into one. Exploration is AL's strength which JK/EVN never had. JK's strength is in growing resource and reserves in the boardroom. Playing ones strengths to grow a company is better than trying to replicate another's.
