Jesus was not impressed by those that demanded high sounding titles.
(Matthew 23:6, 7) They like the most prominent place at evening meals and the front seats in the synagogues 7 and the greetings in the marketplaces and to be called Rabbi by men.
''Rabbi'' was a title meaning ''My Great [Excellent] One''. Along with the Pharisees they saw themselves as ''Law teachers''. [Acts 5:34]. Jesus bi-passed these and selected apostles to teach the Bible's message from those that were scorned as ''uneducated and ordinary''.
(Acts 4:13) Now when they saw the outspokenness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and ordinary men, they were astonished. And they began to realize that they had been with Jesus.
