German politicians have to play to the green gallery -this comprises the lefty hippy greens but also the far right with their anti intellectual anti science nonsense.
They also don't like nuclear, I suspect because its one of the industries in Europe they do not control.
And of course France-the old enemy- has tons of nuclear so they really really hate that!! lol
