As far as I am aware, the “legally binding material contract” grants Renesas the right to use the Akida IP, not the obligation to use it.
Given this, there is no guarantee Akida IP will end up in any Renesas product as a result of the IP license agreement with BrainChip. I imagine Renesas can shelve any development using the Akida IP whenever it likes (e.g. Akida does not suit Renesas' needs).
Furthermore, even if Akida IP does end up in a Renesas product, there is no guarantee that product will be a commercial success.
