I don’t see how this can reach a higher valuation given all the information at present. Tbh I’m pretty shocked it’s worth as much as it is but perhaps, IMO conspiracy theory, the price was driven up to secure a nice salary for Popal? I mean, does the guy even have any experience in mine development? You’d think he has given his recent salary upgrade, which essentially didn’t have any type of strict vetting through the remuneration committee. I haven’t done meticulous research on the acquisition but it seems that’s really the only thing driving up the SP? I just don’t see how any of the management team will be able to bring any of their projects to fruition. Talks about this being worth billions is ludicrous given that management has zero experience turning anything into a billion dollar asset. Happy to be proved wrong though?
As far as U goes, we only have a handful of players that have the infrastructure and capacity to produce enough output to meet demand for at least the next 20 years, so where does Epm fit with their uranium plays?
And the Greenland project, what method are people using to attribute value to it and what value are they getting for it? The open pit looks like a costly endeavour given it’s inundated in water so is the idea to extract the minerals around the area? Just seems like drill cores they have are an expectation of what may be found around the area and not necessarily a catalyst to reopen the existing pit given the cost, but I may be wrong with that as there may be some information already addressing that?
I think a lot of executives of listed companies got very lucky with the covid rebound by having their share prices over inflated, in time to capitalise on that initial move but now will be the hardest yards to prove current valuations.
I’d be pretty comfortable shorting Epm anywhere above .065 I think. Just given how little we know about the value of each of their projects since they are all at so early stages but management poses the biggest risk with their lack of experience. Hope I’m wrong for all recent entrants or prospective punters but just be weary of the hype. HC commentary dominated by 2 or three posters generally are signs for concern. Especially when highlighted by irrational exuberance and lack of institutional support.
Phenomenal management, quality assets in a fundamentally strong industry, a sufficient cash runway and a friendly jurisdiction (in that order) are the most important things to look for when investing in a company at present. For me, EPM fails at the first hurdle given the light research I’ve done on Popal.
