So let's look at what DD6 is doing over DDR5 - it doubles the speed.

4DS RERAM is looking at a 10 times speed increase (order of magnitude) over DRAM. Presumably there are more speed increases to come as 4DS RERAM are still early in the development cycle.

And what they are doing to increase the speed of DRAM is not necessarily making the memory cells themselves faster, it's hardware and software developments that manages the data better, and increases the size of the "pipe" off the memory modules - think of an 8 lane highway versus a 4 lane highway.

They are getting excited about 30% increases in performance, reductions in energy usage - and we potentially have 1000% rates of improvement in 4DS tech.

Don't get me wrong a mature tech that improves by 30% with a development step is an amazing achievement, but in comparison, it's fiddling around the edges.
