Yes, thanks for reminding me of this major upside risk for arrogant shorters and Luddites alike. Should Lynas announce the start of dividend, I would strongly expect a hugely positive momentum build.
NOT EVEN POSSIBLE for Lynas to pay a dividend given the explicit terms regarding same made with Japanese partners. EXCEPT UNTIL JUST RECENTLY when renegotiations explicitly permitted dividends to be paid. The Japanese took their "priority access" privileges out to 2038 regarding all Lynas production of magnet metals et al. But amongst the concessions Lynas requested and received was the ability of Lynas to pay a dividend.
So don't count you chickens before they hatch and don't count out the possibility of dividends starting sooner that anyone has discussed here.
