Let's agree we disagree. In an ideal world that would be all true. I am sure there are instos which are good and supportive and can raise larger capital (mainly legally is the issue as it is limited what a company can do on its own) but very often - as Dr T mentioned impatient for biotech - it is only capital which works on shorter terms for their own reasons -, but they even do other things like lending out shares for shorters - just to make a quick buck, and some even dump it back to the market - and it is volume not small retail profit taking from the trading oriented one - ...... and charge quite a bit for it. Share prices are manipulated (some larger, some lesser extent), whether you accept it or not and this requires some more serious capital. Not easy to prove and unfortunately the regulators and enforcers have a bit to desire with their actions. Financial instos in this realm think they are the ONLY gatekeepers, which is changing in today's world. BODs often go along as this is the only relatively EASY way for them. All this does NOT mean it has to be and it is only a matter of time until this sector of the market / economy will be shaken up as it has happened in several sectors and happening on an ongoing basis. Of course, only my opinion.
