Yes agree Vmate - AS one of the sophisticated analysts suggested - not the mainstream CNN etc etc crowds - never have any society willingly decided to move into a product of less efficient energy production we moved from - firewood to lignite to coal to kerosene to oil and gas - each one more efficient - more bang for the buck and at no stage in this recent decision have the proponents suggested that we all need to cut back on our energy use, but by going to renewals will be by its nature a need to cut back in energy use - we are all sailing along as we can have our cake and eat it too - this is going to end in tears whether your believe or not in the need to change to renewables - it does not matter and the pain will swing from blackouts, to sky high oil prices and back again - and the belief that governments can institute a pre ordained outcome on such a complex system of energy production and use is laughable - each of the progressive changes i mentioned before DID NOT come from Gov decisions/legislation - they were nearly all a matter of time/luck/private industry going about its business and technology. rant over
