Note the reason for the surcharge from the Aldi site:
"Please note however, that there is a 1% surcharge on all credit card purchases to cover the cost of the service."
There is a cost for credit card transactions. If you aren't given a choice to not pay that cost if you aren't using the service you are being ripped off.
