Since the Exmouth communication station is now run entirely by civilian personnel it will be staffed by a minimum number that will be much smaller than in the 1960s. The antenna itself will now also operate with much greater efficiency. The six diesel generators are probably a remnant far in excess of capacity needed. However, Defence communications are of critical importance and can never be allowed to fail under the worst conditions. I suspect that only about 6-7 MW would be necessary with another 6-7 MW for back-up and then back-up to back-up. As the wave climate at that point is less than desired, a farm of about 50 wave units might be installed with 2 x 3 MW diesel generators retained for back-up. It is therefore almost a replica of Garden Is. Perhaps the Navy is buying shares today.
