In 2019 “~3000” cycles for the button batteries, in 2020 “up to 5,000” cycles for the first Endure (car battery size), then “5,000 to 6,000” for the latest 1.2kWhr monoblock. Note, that’s 15 years of full depth, daily cycling! All commentary suggests minimal (if any) decay in capacity (as per all using same chemistry … Redflow, Primus and EOS). This + non-combustibility + recyclability + low cost/abundant materials + etc … appear to be the major common strengths of all the ZnBr technologies.

Similarly to cycle times, RTE has improved as the battery has been developed … 75% in 2019 buttons then 80% 2020 with first Endure (car battery type) then latest 1.2Kwhr monoblock has been quoted as both ”>87%” in the presso pack and “approximately 90%” in the Admission Docs.

Re striping off the zinc - I think the latest battery does this more frequently than every 30-40 cycles (but cant remember where I read that - will confirm and post a link if I stumble across it). I don’t think it needs to do it as often as Redflow tho (every 5 cycles or 120hrs).

Re engineering and size, I think that’s just a general comment from the Prof regarding standard flow type batteries. Vn flow and other chemistries are designed specifically for the job. wrt ZnBr hybrid flow, Redflow and Primus Power have both taken a modular approach…. as has Gelion and EOS with their non-flow.

Do they have any commercial installs yet, maybe 6 months, 1 year etc. of any size you can provide links for?
ie. in service cycling and performance outside the lab of some duration, proof of concept in the field of significant duration, I saw they have that PNG contract, also I saw a site where their batteries run a small desal unit, cheers.
