Here we go again: Hot off the press from Ken Davidson on the ETS (I agree with him that's it's a rort, but he also says:
"The danger is that the central message - that the science of global warming is immutable - will become blurred.
...Unless global emissions peak in the next five years, it becomes nearly impossible to avoid 2 degrees of warming. Containing global warming to 2 degrees is no longer acceptable.
The latest science suggests that a 2-degree rise means there will be no Arctic sea ice, Greenland and the Himalayas will be past their melting tipping points, and in Australia the probable destruction of the Murray-Goulburn basin as our most important agricultural production zone and the death of the Great Barrier Reef."
I would like to see the empirical evidence....however there is nothing like reality to give you a turkey-slap - let's see in 5 years.
I would be great if someone kept a record of these claims & people were held to account for them - all to often Flannery et. al, who have made these pronouncments of imminent disaster get away with it when it doesn't occur
