What is "more of a quarry operation" ? Maybe the eventual mine, but not the 145 holes up to 360 feet (120 meters) deep, that is the subject of the environmental assessment. If the mine is not going that deep -- when residents report their private wells hit water at 40 to 60 feet -- then why drill so deep?
The AZL proposal for drilling said that the water needed (about 1,000 gallons per hole) would come from an existing well on the property, if it functioned after installation of a pump and generator, or otherwise from "the Wikieup municipal supply." This showed just how clueless these people are. Wikieup is an unincorporated area, with no town government or city water company. People drill their own wells and flush sewage into septic tanks.
