    There is one solid reason that batteries won't be the winner. Batteries will come peak and die away as everyone finally realises there simply isn't enough metals to support them. Discarding every 20 odd years and finding mineral resources every twenty years to replace the fleet and the high cost of recycling, just won't work.

    What does anyone know about all those turbine blades? Ans: landfill.

    For a long time I thought H2 was a loser because of transport and storage issues. They still are the problem, plus low-ish % of electrolysers but the low% might just be the price instead of depleting the planets whole store of reasonably accessible minerals for the next 1,000 generations....
