    This is also my view. I'd also say possibly shipping and for aircraft. Generally you can't use batteries because the weight of the batteries to provide enough energy storage requires more batteries to cover the extra power requirements of moving the previous batteries, which then require more and so on.

    Although I was impressed with the recent Rolls Royce demo with the world's fastest electric plane. It also had the fastest ascent.

    Regardless, I think this is a great announcement. Probably still a way to go for commercialisation given this hasn't been developed with a commercial partner already, but a good one for the long term. And it doesn't really matter if cars end up hydrogen or batteries, they can both use supercars for regenerative breaking too, they're used in trams, lifts, heaps of devices. Even if hydrogen does win, EV's aren't going away soon. The amount of money being spent on setting up infrastructure and supply chains for batteries means car companies aren't going to spend that money again developing hydrogen solutions, at least for a while.
