Love Chamonix --------- feeling out whether I could live there all year or just summer. I can put up with the cold - that's fine - but, I like outdoor exercise - and, I don't want to do snowsports - and, I've never lived in such snowy areas

I have lived in cold areas in Oz - and with some snow and a bit of ice - but, nothing remotely like Chamonix.

I'm yet to explore the Sth of France - which is where most seem to retire to.

Burgundy is glorious - the summer is amazing - the foods etc in winter are amazing - but, I'll look South as well.

I've got special places in my heart from Oz - beach houses, desert, mountains, NQ - lived in Cooktown for a while - stunningly beautiful. Lived in Qld, NSW, Vic, WA, Tas.


But, it's not France, not within cooee
