A month later, with AZJ trading at only just above A$3.30 and seeing a 52-week low at A$3.32 this morning, your words are truer than ever.
The MD didn't recently sink A$3.4 million of his own money into AZJ because he's an altruist.
AZJ has much intrinsic value, some of which is arguably not reflected in today's SP.
I take others' points that like an LIC, it may well often or always trade at a 'discount' bur 'Mr Market' seems not to appreciate the ongoing cashflows and probably by mid next year the success of the latest agreement with the Queensland regulator.
AZJ is also gradually winning non-coal bulk haulage contracts, mostly rail as one would expect but occasionally road. 'Mr Market' ignores this.
