I am with the few here willing her on. When I remember, I'll channel good thoughts to her.
It's quite a drama and everyone has strong views.
One of my core beliefs is that children are born hardwired for good and it is upbringing that can cut a few wires.
I dont feel there is much to be gained by being an armchair critic of Jessica and/or her parents ... a damaged child of low self esteem she is not ... what parent wouldn't want their children to have ambitious goals and live their dreams ... I doubt Jessica has been coerced into this venture.
An acqaintence of mine sailed around the world about 5 years ago and kept us all in the loop with daily/weekly blogs ... with good planning, route and timing can be varied to avoid some weather risks ... it will probably be something mundane like damaged water distilling equipment or a broken autopilot that forces an end to the solo part of her venture.
Now that she is underway please get behind her and will her on ... safely.
