Just so I get it right. Let me use an example scenario below.
a. First lot, bought 5000 shares
b. Second lot, bought 2500 shares
c. Third lot, bought 2500 shares
d. Fourth lot, bought 5000 shares.
e. Sold 5000 shares.
From what you said, I can therefore do any of the following legally:
1. Set First lot 5000 against the 5000 sold
2. Set Second lot 2500 & Third lot 2500 against the 5000 sold
3. Set Fourth lot 5000 against the 5000 sold.
Please correct if my understanding is wrong. Or course, on proviso one have the paperwork to proof all those date of purchases and sold like contract notes from the broker, etc.
