I agree with your suspicions Purd, and some comments also made are what I see as misleading in themselves.
The way the historic Barber drilling results from the newly aquired data has been portrayed in dt's post, ("instead we get historic results from Barber") pfttt...there nothing, If I did not know any better, I would think off those comments that these results are insignifiant and could not be used towards a Jorc calculation. Hmmm, very suspicious Imo, and somewhat misleading, and a simple phone call to Pen like you have pointed out to clear this up would seem like a logical thing to do, especially for the benefit of someone that claims he is holding a large amount of shares you would think.
I found out about the results for myself by ringing!!and was told that these historic results obtained from the new data aquired are in fact just as good as newly drilled holes. So the attempted downplay of these results just to make ones argument look better and to the detriment of Pen is what I view as confusing to say the least.
On top of that, even if Pen had started drilling Barber at the end of september, I certainly would not have expected results on it untill possibly the end of October. Yet it looks like someones complaining about it. Imo Just so as to say I told you so.
And I was also told from ringing management(that btw is being suggested a useless thing to do anyway, can't work that one out especially being a large shareholder)that the new data base aquired was indeed causing them to rethink their drilling targets at Barber, which up untill now has been mentioned that they are starting shortly. So funnily enough I saw that delay at Barber now as a very positive outcome and certainly not a negative as has been hinted. It looks like Hseng was spot on with his hyperthetical view on it.
Everthing I have read and come to believe on good share investing has steered me to keeping in regular contact with management especially when you are holding a large amount of shares. Never have I once read, that dont bother ringing, because they are just going to tell you what ever to get you off the phone!!
I see this comment also as a mockery of the whole argument.
"Should be good for PEN, except the US Govt is planning to dump a large amount of Uranium onto the spot market so in the short term PEN won't get much benefit and may even decline with all the other U stocks. Who has mentioned that? No one. If it's a positive for PEN then pages will be written, if it's a negative, nothing."
Indeed a short discussion has been made about the uranium in question, between myself and beaver. So indeed it has been mentioned.
I will happily join you purd in the ignore section on dt, as I only ever foresee highly calculated and cleverly hidden unfriendly comments coming.
