I can't tell if you are joking with that last part, or if you really think Lidar is going to be used for missile detection? In any case it doesn't take any longer to feed a video feed through a regular CNN vs using a DVS and an SNN. The sparsity of the SNN saves on power but unless you find a way to reduce the number of layers in the network (as described in some of Simon Thorpes presentations) it isn't going to be any faster than a CNN with the same number of layers.

Hi RH,

Not that I've seen the figures, but I would expect feeding image data through N layers of CNN would be significantly slower than feeding image spikes through N layers of SNN because CNN has more bits to process.

At about 6:50 onwards - CCN 32 bits v 1, 2 or 4 bit Akida:

In addition, CNN processes all bytes, while Akida processes events.
