you are missing the point….I am objecting to the concept of patent extension being allowed for seemingly small tweaks. It has the smell about it of gaming the system.

it reminds me of a game some play in mining….
mining tenements cost money…they have to be renewed every few years or something. Apparently, some low-lifes make a good living out of checking when valuable tenements come due to renewal and pounce within minutes of renewal time expiring to apply to buy the tenements themselves!
Sure that game is legal, even damned crafty in its own sociopathic way, but would you want your child to marry someone who makes their fortune that way?
