The reporting is a bit flawed because while for every two shares sold one was a short, it is probable that for every two shares bought, one was for covering a previous short or if you like, cutting losses or profit-taking on the part of shorters. What would really be handy is knowing net short positions at the close of trading.
Based on the total short percentage in the report, we cannot readily assess how much of a short squeeze shorters are going to feel.
