I think this is a bad move. The data from South Africa, particularly Tswame, suggests a very mild Omicron variant - although this depends on current immunity, demographics, duration since infection, all sorts of things - however its transmissibility is such that it could wipe out Delta in months. They have had Omicron dominant for about a month and yet only about 10% of COVID-19 hospitalisations in SA are getting as far as ARDS and ventilation - far less than for Delta. Potentially great news for the world of course.
Regarding remestemcel-L I think the ship has sailed.
