if you can’t see the difference between the redback/eos and the singtech bids in the context of our relationship with South Korea then so be it. I don’t want to go into the T2000 turret and the difference with Elbit but to say well the only difference is the base vehicle is ridiculous.
if you can’t see an increasingly aggressive Chinese rhetoric since the Covid crisis and the diplomatic relationship with the ROW then so be it. In terms of the AUKUS reaction and Chinese belligerence, if you can’t see the symbolism of furthering arms deals and defense co operation with Australia with China effectively calling us a US puppet and starting a regional arms race and South Korea then deliberately creating ties with us in this context then so be it.
to think politics won’t come into a decision is just naive especially when the PM actually said what he said. Especially when South Korea is Our third largest export market and future collaborations both ways on technology as well as resources is a no brainer for Australia much more than Israel or Singapore or Germany. I never said army would make this decision on this basis alone but then again army doesn’t ultimately make the decision does it.
