You don't buy a stock for a single years biannual investor presentations. The reality is it is completely irrelevant what the short term earnings and dividend payments are, because this stock is in predicament where its wholly dependant on the global funds performance against the index and movements over the next 12 months in terms of inflows/outflows.
No one (with a brain that is) is buying a stock for a single years worth of an 8% dividend when the next year that dividend could be half the value. If there is a mass exodus of funds that is absolutely a possibility.
