The title of the announcement literally reads "Vulcan receives settlement AND apology..."
The illegal shorters cost a lot of people money (SP nearly $15 at the time), including Vulcan's famous backers, Australias Richest Family.
Do you seriously think they would be happy with a "Sorry, Not Sorry" open letter and an order to stop spreading the already out in the world mis-information they presented? I think not. This guy went on CNBC and defamed Vulcan saying that the shares don't have much value.
