If you look at the design of LAMP and its execution you'd understand Nick didn't know a whole lot about RE or process but he definitely understood what strong interest the Chinese had in the magnetic oxides.
Problem is Browns Range has never been proven as an economic resource, the fact they are still exploring and GB's "pilot" plant is doing nothing after several years surely is evidence enough.
