Yatchy, Please don’t get personal and pious because of my HC “new” status. I have only started posting this year because I struggled to bear reading some of the drivel without factual basis, or at least objective theoretical discussion. I can assure you I have been accumulating since my initial purchase at 24c back in 2011!!
What I was trying to explain is that If for instance I owned 2-3m shares, I could take either a long or short position. History has made me take a long position and accumulate at lower prices to try get my capital back. Now, if I were to sell 1-2m upon a cap raise news, that is taking a short term position speculating that the SP will lower, with a view to accumulate more at a lower price. This is where it is possible to make money in the short term, ie short selling. Shorting doesn’t always have to be a naked position which is reported by short man or the asx.
now, I reassure you I need And want IBG SP to go well north of 20c to make my last decade as a shareholder worthwhile.
