I may be off the mark but does anyone see an LAU bid for the AZJ planned divestment known as East Coast Rail - coal haulage in Hunter Valley NSW and up in Queensland?

Alternatively, if that would result in LAU being hated by the woke virtue-signalling climate alarmists, perhaps LAU is considering operating its own trains (although that'd need a lot of capital investment).

Maybe it could launch a takeover bid for a smaller transport company such as Fletcher's or Crawfords that already have some rail operations to and from Sydney, or even the private Southern Shorthaul Railroad from Bendigo, Victoria.
