Unvaccinated Alabama police chief dies of COVID-19 as his widow says he regretted not getting the shots on his death bed

• Buddy Crabtree, 65, the police chief of Ider, Alabama, died of COVID-19 on Saturday
• Crabtree was hospitalized on October 9, then flown to Chattanooga, Tennessee a day later for treatment as his condition worsened
• He was unvaccinated, but told his wife he would 'take all three' shots if he recovered from the virus

Covid has quietly become the one of the leading killers of police officers nationwide since the pandemic began last year.
