Something as contentious as mask-wearing to stop Covid spreading would by now have had a vast body of scientific evidence unequivocally demonstrating masks make a statistically significant difference.
And by "scientific evidence" I don't mean something that was said on Twitter and posted by someone on HotCopper, I mean truly independent, thoroughly peer-reviewed studies that prove that masks make a statistically significant in preventing the spread of Covid.
It is therefore a curious observation that not one of the many strident advocates of mask-wearing that I have come across, reference any such independent, thoroughly peer-reviewed studies.
