    hey macca66,

this may seem trivial, but an important factor that i learned is, don't claim it as yours
try substituting the word I with the.
and adopting a similar attitue as much as possible

"I don't hide my depression and will openly admit it to people."

the extent of the effect of words upon our conditioned subconscious is unknowen, so we would be wise to stack the odds more in our favour.

    folks seriously underestimate hell

what makes conditions worse is that western culture is pleasure seeking, but the pleasure that is sought is temporary and dependent upon things that are out of our control, which creates a a long emotional roller coaster ride.
the things that we desire for happiness, we make ourselves subject to, and we wind up like an unanchored boat on the ocean.
this is a significant contributuing factor in most mental diseases.
other factors come from our past, which we are unaware of; the best way to deal with them is to accept them as something we have created ourselves.
the scum that we have created during our existance(s) will, from time to time come to the surface (consciousness)

have had some very heavy stuff (walking on the edge of a razor stuff) that comes up.
for all i know i could have being a hitler or a pol pot.
that's why i try not to harbour hatred towards anyone, as they are ignorant of what they are doing to themselves.
