Despite the downturn in SP (which mirrors the broader market, albeit a little more extreme for us) volume remains high.
Following the huge spike in volume in Europe last Friday, it's been building daily with the ADR (which was in positive territory today, despite a huge drop in the AUD). Volume in the states today was the highest since May. I don't think it's day traders. Hopefully it's new investors with a long term outlook. Given the short time horizon for news, it's reasonable to expect these new buyers will hold for a while. Maybe we're swapping out the antsy, nervous investors for new ones who will stick it out. That'll increase the tension on this little rubber band which means it will snap up higher and faster on good news, IMHO.
