I so much agree with what you have said, my believe also is that it starts with our inner emotions, we have so many thoughts in a day, changing those to reflect in a more positive way would improve the way you feel, give it a try change your inner self talk - I am so fascinated and currently study applied social science, if I can help someone with just a smile a day it sure makes my day.
Keeping a daily balance helps, regular and healthy eating, and do not forget exercising, a 30 minute walk would do you wonders.
Those in third world countries do not have time on their hands to worry about their health they need to go out there and provide for their families, where as for us we seem to have it all with so many opportunities and still not happy, when things gets tough we don't seem to know how to cope, we have not been taught. Important is for those that suffer depression to seek help immediately and talk to people about it, do not be afraid help is available.
This is great and glad to see that depression became an open topic for discussion.
