Rudd was/is a dangerous person to have in charge of anything more complex than a toilet. but he had excellent advisers.
middle income tax has already been reduced as has the top rate. this benefits the wealthy enormously... meanwhile the poorest people continue to struggle with over with low income, job inadequacy and insecurity, rising food and rent prices and minimal help from the Fed Gov.
What the wealthy need, instead of tax reductions, they can do a deal with the ATO, whereas poor people have no choice but to take what's left over, is to realise that they are in an excellent position, better than most nations, with an effective tax rate of around half the nominal tax rate of 45c (not 47c)/dollar. The wealthy can afford to pay tax, the poor can't afford to buy food and pay the rent.
