A bit depressing for the season I know, sorry. But the sooner the general public, particularly the Australian general public, wake up to what is happening right now --- really right now given the news on both the European (Ukraine/Russia) and Eastern (Taiwan/China) fronts --- the better chance we may be able to mobilise to prevent it.
So, for anybody out there who is not already aware of these documents, I post links to 2 articles from very reputable, impecable even, information sources.
The 1st is a PDF copy of a detailed study by the RAND corporation. The RAND Corporation, is a federally funded US research and development center sponsored by the United States Army. The document is an official (public domain) US Army strategy document entitled: War with China: Thinking Through the Unthinkable. Its long, but read the preface, assumptions and summary. Seems to me "they" actuallybelieve they & their "allies" (this means you) will "win" if they can kick of a conflict before 2025 (while casting their opponents as the "aggressors")
The 2nd is a review of the implications of the former by an Australian think tank, the Lowry Institute. For those who have never heard of it, tThe Lowy Institute is an independent think tank founded in April 2003 by Frank Lowy to conduct original, policy-relevant research about international political, strategic and economic issues from an Australian perspective. It is based in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.
Your government has copies of this analytical report --- but people like Peter Dutton, Scott Morrison et al are not to be swayed by reason!!! Who really pays them? Who ensured their rise to power? Do we really know what our "allies" have at North West Cape and/or Pine Gap? Have our own Australian military personnel actually got total access to these "shared" [sic!] facilites?
