Gold shares are a neglected backwater of the market and bargains such as OGC always exist in that environment.
Gold from an all time high drops about 3% on a $US rally to be around $US1030 and gold shares get dumped 15%.
It seems some of those who actually have gold shares are a nervous lot and sell at the first whiff of gunpowder.
Gold has been rising for around 8 years and is up about 40% this year in what seems a secular bull market for gold but the propaganda is so convincing that gold share holders are more braced for falls and quick selling.
The US ecomomy is a basket case and will require continuing stimulus and a small leakage of $US into gold will keep upward pressure on the price albeit with corrections along the way.
Gold is a long term play and I advise patience and tactics such a accumulation on dips.
