Thanks, I'm undecided on the regeneration point. We simply don't know for example, in the CHF trial did the doctors stick another probe into the heart at the 5 year mark of the survivors to see if there was a regenerative effect and a change in the electric heart strength for the better? Then they would know definitely. Since there is some risk with that procedure, I am beginning to think not. So then how can mesoblast prove it if the patients that benefited most are alive, and the deceased patients cannot have that measurement taken. From an approvals process, it may well be better for them to only focus on accepted outcomes, which have easier benefits to document. Covid ards they might have x ray to show approximate scar tissue distribution... but then again patients are on ventilation and incapacitated when inducted, so again they probably didn't get x ray'd at that point. The sheep disc study they clearly got to see the actual disc after the sheep died, but how can they do that with patients still alive ?
I think they know now for a fact the cells work in the environment of inflammation, but what they may not have enough proof of yet is the regeneration.... Maybe it does ( it did in the sheep ) maybe there is a different cell, or a cell that expresses something in higher quantities that is more sited to that. If a lizard can grow back its tail.... its only a matter of time before we figure out exactly how it happens. Its amazing to think now in 2021, we are only just now starting to get acceptance on how the human immune system is controlled. Mesoblast are on the front line in that department. !
