don't you mean writing call options or buying put options? This is what you do if you expect the SP to drop. Selling put options is when you expect the SP to gain so they expire out of the money.
I'd be careful with this one because the dilution that you're claiming is almost non-existent. SPP buyers are paying 12.40 into the company for each share.
