Id rather them do what they've done than have announced that they've gone with some other well known company but aren't able to produce chips until mid 2023 when their backlog clears.
to think they're putting any IP at risk is naive imo. They're not stupid.
they're clearly happy with EM and confident they can/will deliver. People are overlooking the fact that they've been working with AP for years, have already produced products that AP routinely use including in the demo systems and prototypes. And on top of that EM have pumped millions of $$$ into it themselves.
No one involved is going to f* themselves over. Would this be the prefered path? Probably not. Is it the best path available given the circumstances? You'd have to assume so.
