I think its important to acknowledge that China has in some ways significantly overtaken the West integrating advanced tech into its everyday infrastructure. And that attainment gap is enlarging. Their super high speed railways being a prime example.
Our skepticism about EM simply reveals our own ignorance about tech in China. The West has become a secondary player now.
I've had a lot of doubt about AKP recently but this is a clever move. I don't think they really care that much about SP or what the market thinks.
