As a retiree on a super. pension that is untaxed I can earn $18,000 before tax is applied. This week I have sold IVZ shares that I have held for over a year and made $36,000 which will be tax-free. I have just bought the same number of shares back at a cheaper price than I sold them for. If I do eventually sell them the profit margin will not be as high if I kept the original shares and will not be liable for as much tax. It will be great to pay less tax legally.
